"Alright, now you will stay in the box, no barking, no wiggling, no jumping out. It'll only be for a minute. Got it?" The deal was sealed witha lick on his nose. Tony was holding a small beagle puppy. He had gotten it as a gift for Steve. Steve was always noticing dogs when they were out, petting them, and asking the owners questions. Tony thought it was time he got Steve his own dog. He had slipped a red silk bow around the puppy and put it in a big box for the moment, there were some air holes on the side. He walked around, looking for the other. "Stevennnnnn~? Come on out, I've got a surprise! And don't worry, this one is actually a good one!"

Steve was sitting on his bed, looking out the window when he heard the call. He looked up, as if it allow entry into his sanctuary, before realizing he had to speak. "Come in!" He spoke at a slightly higher volume than normal.

Tony came in with the big box in his hands. "Got you a little present. Well...it's actually a kind of big one. And not just the box, no, what's inside is really something." Tony said as he smiled, taking a seat next to the other on the bed.

Steve smiled at the way Tony said his words. "Thank you for not buying me a box." He said with as much sarcasm as possible

"Well, if you want a big box I'll just return the gift." Tony joked. "Go on, just open it before it crawls away." Considering the gift, it actually COULD crawl away.

"Crawl?" Steve shook his head and just took the box. It was awkward to hold because whatever was inside of it was moving. Steve set the box on his lap and lifted the lid. The puppy jumped out of the box and into the face of the unsuspecting soldier. "Gah!" He shouted in shock. "Oh, Tony! You got me a puppy!" Steve's smile lit up his whole face. "I had a puppy when I was ten!" He said, still beaming while reaching to get the dog from its place on the floor

"Surprise!" Tony said as he watched the puppy happily run around and jump up at Steve's legs. "Yeah, well, now you have one when you're ninety." Tony said with a smile. "Do you like him?" He asked hopefully.

"Of course I do!" Steve smiled. He kind of wanted to kiss Tony at the moment but he had always been awkward at making the first move. "I do."

"Good...glad you do." Tony said as he gave the other a kiss on the cheek for now, knowing Steve liked things a bit slow. "Got any name ideas?"

"Uhm, sort of. I've always liked the name Rosco. For a dog." Steve smiled at the kiss and absentm mimdedly touched his cheek. He looked down at the incredibly happy dog and smiled. "Do you like that name? Do you? Come on Rosco, up!" He said to the dog in the ridiculous voice people always use with animals. "Thank you so much." He said, turning to Tony.

"Rosco. That's cute, very cute. I like it." Tony said with a smile as he watched Steve testing the name out on the other. "Don't thank me, I just want to keep a smile on that handsome face of yours." Tony said as he stared at the other a bit, before looking back down to the hyper puppy at Steve's feet.

Steve blushed and followed the mans eyes, looking back at the dog. "Do you think w-" He abruptly ended his sentence. Picking up the dog and petting his light carmel back.

"Hmm? No, go on finish." Tony said as he watched the puppy's tail wag eagerly as Steve started to pet him. He was more interested in what Steve had to say though.

"No, I'm just acting foolish." Steve shook his head and avoided the others eyes. Looking at the dog, who was practically bathing in happinessn

"Come on, tell me. Least you can do after I got you a super awesome present?" Tony tried with a hopeful grin.

"I was just wondering," he looked up a Tony, smiling sheepishly at the man. "Do you think we'll ever have kids? As in adopt?" Steve looked down, embarrased.

"Oh..." Tony paused to think this over. "I didn't know you wanted kids. Kinda why I got you the puppy too." Tony suggested. "Maybe someday though, if that's what you want...I wouldn't mind." he smiled a little.

(Squee! My feels!) Steve smiled at his shoes. "I'd like that."
